Creating art, having a good time making it, is the reason I am writing this blog today. I have completed an enjoyable Easter theme pastel, I did it for fun. It didn’t take too long complete and it says what I mean…have a good time making whatever you call art…
I painted Easter eggs floating on notebook paper; ascending from a brown flat envelope, saying, 2015 Easter to me. A commercial acceptance of the fun I found referencing the days I use to color Easter eggs. Ah, memories.
I remember Paas Easter egg dye colored tablets, about the size of an aspirin dropped in a cup of hot water and vinegar where I would soak my eggs in the dye, till they were a beautiful pastel color…magic! Pink, green and orange looked great, but purple was the best. I am adding a violet colored egg to my drawing now…I’m back; the last egg and final object of my Easter art contribution.
I was going to draw a graphite portrait on the notebook paper, after Bernini’s ecstasy of Saint Theresa, but it was too serious of a theme. I wanted to have fun and send everyone an Easter greeting to you reading my blog.
I do have a traditional Easter theme painting on my Facebook page, I invite you to friend me and take a look. It’s a crucifix of Christ in an untraditional style. Until next month, may the road rise up to meet you.
All the best,
